Packing List
All Students
- Health insurance card
- Your USC Net ID and password (already activated at home, prompted by an email from our team)
- School supplies (textbooks and other course-specific materials will be distributed when students arrive):
- Three-subject spiral notebook
- Folder with pockets
- Flash drives
- Pens
- Pencils
- Paper
- Money for printing, as some courses will require a small amount of printed materials (papers, assignments, etc.), which are paid for using a print/copy card that can be purchased with cash at the libraries
International Students
- Passport
- Valid visa (generally F-1 but exceptions apply). Please note that B1/B2/F2 are not valid visas for full-time study at USC Summer Programs.
- Signed I-20 (if arriving on an F-1 visa)
- I-94 (you may download it from here after your arrival in the U.S.)
- Or, if you are currently studying at a U.S. high school, all you will need is your signed USC high school permission letter.
Residential Students
Required
- Clothing, including casual clothing for classroom and recreational activities and a jacket for evenings or chilly weather
- Specific clothing required for your course (see course page)
- Domestic cell phone and charger. To get a U.S. number on a current phone, international students can buy a prepaid U.S. SIM card on websites like Amazon or from a phone service provider. Please purchase and activate the SIM card before your arrival in the U.S.
- Clothes hangers*
- Laundry supplies* (laundry facilities located on each floor in the residence halls require a Visa or Mastercard)
- Laundry basket or bag*
- Twin extra-long sheets, pillows, blanket or comforter
- Toiletries*
- Towels*
Recommended
- Laptop
- Portable charger
- Spending money (approximately $50 to $75 per week)
- Shower caddy*
- Shower flip-flops*
- Extension cord (if bringing multiple electronics)*

* Items can be purchased after arrival at the USC Bookstore or at the Target located in the University Village.
