In “Lawyers, Law, and the Legal Profession,” you will explore U.S. law and the basic structure of the American legal system including how branches of government have shaped history and our daily lives. You will also be introduced to the basic aspects of the legal profession – from the educational training that lawyers receive to the types of roles that lawyers play and the various legal careers that you can pursue. Through lectures, guest speakers, and field trips, the course not only looks at our nation’s governing structure but also the pathways to becoming a lawyer and working in the legal field.
